October is Bullying Prevention Awareness month and one mother is hoping the video her bullied daughter
made before she committed suicide will bring more light to the negative effects of bullying. In the video, the Canadian teen, Amanda Todd, explains her torment by bullies by
holding up cue cards that tell her story. Her trouble started when she flashed
an online chat room and one boy decided to use the pictures against her. The
story ends with her saying “I have nobody. I need someone.” Only a few hundred
people saw the video while the teen was alive, but hundreds of thousands have watched
it since her death. Her problems were caused by constant taunting and repeated cyber attacks. I hope some good does come out of this video's new popularity. From the publicity surrounding this video and its reaction, I hope bullied teens see that they're not alone and that there are people who care and think similar situations are heinous.
