Are You Really Driving an SUV?

I tend to make fun of people who drive sport utility vehicles. Not everyone is the butt of my jokes. I typically mock those who drive large, utility vehicles for no reason, especially if they are small people. There generally is no reason for most people to drive sport utility vehicles. You should ask yourself, am I going off roading? Do I have a lot of luggage and equipment to haul around? Do I have to tow heavy trailers or other vehicles? If your answers to those questions are yes then by all means, drive an SUV with a giant smile on your face. However, if your reason for having a sport utility vehicle is that you feel like you have more control on the road during inclement weather you should get over it. Learn how to drive well and defensively and do not take a road trip during bad weather. It is that simple. If you bought an SUV because they are all the rage and you want to blend in with every other vehicle on the road you should also get over it. It is uncool to waste all your money on a gas-guzzling vehicle. It is uncool to be a lemming and not think for yourself. If you like feeling like you are larger and more dominating in your vehicle you may have road rage issues. If you have an SUV it may be a good idea to re-evaluate your transportation priorities. I drive a zippy small car that gets pretty good gas mileage. It gets me where I need to go safely. Shouldn’t that be the goal for most drivers?

  1. OMg I LOVE MY SUV and would never drive a tiny car... in fact, when I see a tiny car, I make fun of THOSE drivers and imagine driving over them, monster-truck style.

BUT aside from my extremely short commute to jobs# 1 and 2, I also drive it through fields, haul wagons and trailers, and move parts and farm misc.... so I know I don't make you list of people you make fun of, but I DID want you to know WE make fun of "You People" too ;)

(yes.. I had to use a "you people")

    Love ya!

  2. LOL, I don't doubt that people make fun of my vehicle. To each their own, right? And no, you are not one of the people I make fun of. Rural living usually kicks you out of the "you people" category!
