Restaurant review: Revolucion

A restaurant review of a favorite spot in commemoration of Cinco de Mayo

This is a restaurant I’ve wanted to check out for a few months now. It is conveniently located in Indy’s Fountain Square district across the street from Radio Radio. Revolucion has a limited menu, serving up mostly just tacos and some American fare, however I was very impressed with the variety of fillings options available. Being a vegetarian I usually don’t get many choices in this department and I am generally very pleased if a place has regular fish tacos. Revolucion has fish, shrimp, veggie, and potato in addition to the meaty fare. I tried the potato tacos and I did not regret my decision. My tacos were filled with the expected potato and a corn salsa. A very delicious treat! I’m told the pork tacos were equally great, especially since pork is not something that is on the menu at many taco places. Revolucion served up good portions for a great price. In addition to the surprisingly good food, the music and décor added a special off beat element. Reggae music played throughout the restaurant as murals of skeleton mariachi band members looked on from the walls. If I had one complaint it would be that the margaritas are small, but there’s always more where that came from. So order up!
